About

Following the completion of a multi-use, multi-level facility that provides a secure connection between the Tom Bradley International Terminal and Terminal 4 in 2016, the current project to enhance passengers' experience  in Terminals 4 and 5 includes:
– A unified 300,000-plus square-foot, 30-gate complex for Terminals 4 and 5
– A spacious new departure hall, reconfigured ticket counter and check-in areas
– 16 lanes for security screening with automated technology
– Upgraded amenities and concession offerings
– Improvements that increase the efficiency of passengers' journeys

The modernization also incorporates a Terminal Vertical Core to provide multi-level travel options via escalators, elevators and stairs and access to the APM system, concessions, baggage and restrooms.

The project is pursuing Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) Silver certification from the U.S. Green Building Council for the Terminal Vertical Core and the new portions of the Terminal 4 headhouse and concourse.
